Last month I managed to get myself to my local <a href="https://www.spotlightstores.com/">Spotlight</a> store to buy the elastic I needed. An error was made at the cutting table, I thought I asked for 1 meter plus 5 cm, but apparently I asked for 1.5m so I now have 45 cm of expensive elastic I have no use for. The error discouraged me, so I left making the shorts undone for another month. It was disheartening that I had made an error. Maybe I was too tired, and I really didn't want to screw up the cutting of the material if I went ahead to make the shorts. Sewing is not like crochet, where if you make a mistake you just unravel the yarn and you have the material unphased to use again. When you cut material there is no going back!</p><p>It reminds me of why I don't like to cook. Just a few weeks ago I felt confident enough to cook a dish I used to make a lot, sausages in tomato with zucchini and onion. But the sausages were over cooked and the onions were under cooked. I was so sure I had cooked them long enough, but that wasn't the case. The onions were so bad, I threw the left overs into the compost, and that's saying a lot because I always prefer to eat left overs and not waste them! Not wasting food is one of the simplest things we can do, for the environment as well as for the household budget. David usually does the cooking in our house, because he is so damn good at it, my guess his success rate is well over 90%, when the chance of success when I cook is considerably lower. The fear of failure is real, and it can be crippling, so much so that stuff doesn't get done, or like the cooking, it gets passed onto my husband.</p><p>I have a lot of material in my stash. I don't know what I was thinking to buy so much. Well I do, it happened when I first became unemployed. I fancied with all this new time I would get into crafting, and I did with crochet, but not so much with sewing. I just haven't had as much success with it, and I really worry about making mistakes with the cutting. As it was with these pink sleep shorts, I made them very big, because when I cut them I was very careful not to make a mistake, and too big is better than too small! I have needed some more sleep shorts for the summer, but when I looked into buying something I just couldn't decide because I didn't really like what I could find. So I made these, and I am triumphant! Another task completed when trying to fight a low mood! Huzzah!</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIJK1AbUm_OBEgks4YN5B-SeTKujMwK6vwN9SU_THI_B0yj1Qz-gpL3mMhz_oSp8lBOVkuzKgMp97hM5YydYTQ76N83XK9r2Y-DBRZOkvxqQrUzWDN_uPMT93edOur6HTMpC01RbLR3-rR5elepfnnQmQ4R8Pq0o7EwB0bfQeRrNpPJXlwMFl4BHbqUYc/s4080/2024%20pink%20sleep%20shorts.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4080" data-original-width="3060" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIJK1AbUm_OBEgks4YN5B-SeTKujMwK6vwN9SU_THI_B0yj1Qz-gpL3mMhz_oSp8lBOVkuzKgMp97hM5YydYTQ76N83XK9r2Y-DBRZOkvxqQrUzWDN_uPMT93edOur6HTMpC01RbLR3-rR5elepfnnQmQ4R8Pq0o7EwB0bfQeRrNpPJXlwMFl4BHbqUYc/w480-h640/2024%20pink%20sleep%20shorts.jpg" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">homemade sleep shorts</td></tr></tbody></table>Teenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12159385234457342969noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7623212032371597340.post-83527382486072335642024-03-18T14:03:00.004+10:002024-03-19T09:06:42.256+10:00One Way to Fight a Low Mood<p> Last month I had a few days of low mood. I call it that out of respect to people who really suffer with depression, but it was real, none-the-less. I had to really think long and hard about any activity that could possibly help me feel like I was productive, in any way at all! I think the main problem is my days are pretty uneventful and I struggle to find productive things to do, so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time on this Earth! So one thing I tried was fool around with some black felt tip pens and pastel colours. Here are some images I came up with...</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeGN8xZ7_m9SDmnT00-VWiYkU4A6318kn_Xkk4SWoqxeG0jYWrkPdML4dnNvHF6LGRjs4coLJyHuDTQavOy0pu6Hh1QpcfXwPnL2schjrLE2Dn_IH7ITwTA8nApCzwioxHpq0zUF7yuuDVR_9ZJ2sbqUtCnBGmwYJxMUDkCFEgnisZLft4L1r3omimQtY/s4080/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20A.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4080" data-original-width="3060" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeGN8xZ7_m9SDmnT00-VWiYkU4A6318kn_Xkk4SWoqxeG0jYWrkPdML4dnNvHF6LGRjs4coLJyHuDTQavOy0pu6Hh1QpcfXwPnL2schjrLE2Dn_IH7ITwTA8nApCzwioxHpq0zUF7yuuDVR_9ZJ2sbqUtCnBGmwYJxMUDkCFEgnisZLft4L1r3omimQtY/w480-h640/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20A.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsL_ZjhgkdW4xa0LmAugpwRhvl-NlwzswmLq7ousZtgsTdeRHjcinU0D60pn7f0PZyZAQMkR3PGDkQsUluCISL6uxi2P_dFa6RCq2s9vW3pt54V1ZBo3x8gdNFZFf490RYvuEzdmYBLb51beCPAzpkga2JsfOWhvztc2cLNrkIzy42RjREbqnF2nYJMVE/s4080/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20B.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3060" data-original-width="4080" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsL_ZjhgkdW4xa0LmAugpwRhvl-NlwzswmLq7ousZtgsTdeRHjcinU0D60pn7f0PZyZAQMkR3PGDkQsUluCISL6uxi2P_dFa6RCq2s9vW3pt54V1ZBo3x8gdNFZFf490RYvuEzdmYBLb51beCPAzpkga2JsfOWhvztc2cLNrkIzy42RjREbqnF2nYJMVE/w640-h480/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20B.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_Ir7oDATMAwkNfUFGaRLWkcsbOte7DMMQrg3YNt8EJL90BuSAmNY-x2N7mbTsAgUluT0naeLoLO4aiBrJyrYnHRYlFf903TjjSeVIBZQSt-Q4SN-CuccSlplpZuIzRf-wFbdvUEQaiNQQXmn6zN6kuM1rglvLZNX19M3NyXz7A31-TzXgr9KQ0KkekcM/s4080/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20C.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3060" data-original-width="4080" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_Ir7oDATMAwkNfUFGaRLWkcsbOte7DMMQrg3YNt8EJL90BuSAmNY-x2N7mbTsAgUluT0naeLoLO4aiBrJyrYnHRYlFf903TjjSeVIBZQSt-Q4SN-CuccSlplpZuIzRf-wFbdvUEQaiNQQXmn6zN6kuM1rglvLZNX19M3NyXz7A31-TzXgr9KQ0KkekcM/w640-h480/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20C.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPvO7tARMHyDCAD7gLEUhiGkUH3u7EhUvMg51D5QSKANwz4vKlBu3ca3TWvubDFDs1kwCjHXDcrnUnOTyRQI0CxTTJcb2gXRZuVEHPV1Gt7h18pOaHs-y9wh9QqxjiWWv54eSIccDEYEISmZYgwQsPRSCJI1EK0g7ivGE8_fuF-ZeZPYFq3JsqzWdW4R4/s4080/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20D.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3060" data-original-width="4080" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPvO7tARMHyDCAD7gLEUhiGkUH3u7EhUvMg51D5QSKANwz4vKlBu3ca3TWvubDFDs1kwCjHXDcrnUnOTyRQI0CxTTJcb2gXRZuVEHPV1Gt7h18pOaHs-y9wh9QqxjiWWv54eSIccDEYEISmZYgwQsPRSCJI1EK0g7ivGE8_fuF-ZeZPYFq3JsqzWdW4R4/w640-h480/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20D.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNXYQHrMKY99c7fuVmBp-6xr4QWTdS7BMX2jn_sw3jbuopMG8mHeo25ynDT-ziZW8y_atLHTSdqGe2nfLqZAT_Y4x_q5EJFlOZEUSNsqDCcghDIWg2kd0ActnDfPWE_budYHhdMtTKcJF1_rf9j0vJlRLrP8RYqelIQQ7_c8QQd8NVwv5J43XjwqngVpg/s4080/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20E.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4080" data-original-width="3060" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNXYQHrMKY99c7fuVmBp-6xr4QWTdS7BMX2jn_sw3jbuopMG8mHeo25ynDT-ziZW8y_atLHTSdqGe2nfLqZAT_Y4x_q5EJFlOZEUSNsqDCcghDIWg2kd0ActnDfPWE_budYHhdMtTKcJF1_rf9j0vJlRLrP8RYqelIQQ7_c8QQd8NVwv5J43XjwqngVpg/w480-h640/2024%20Feb%20flowers,%20leaves%20&%20shells%20E.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>This did help a little, in that I spent a day doing something different to what I normally do. I spend a lot of my day at the pc and drink a lot of water! The doctor wants me to limit the amount of coffee I drink due to high blood pressure, so I only have about 2 or 3 cups a day, but I drink water all day long. These coasters are ones I made last month and they are by our computers now. I used a 3.5mm hook and 8 ply cotton yarn from <a href="https://www.bendigowoollenmills.com.au/">Bendigo Woollen Mills</a>.</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-ZsPsXyI4olaw3PRtqXSBimtYtHMkOCvwz1m0l7RTUUwBnODt55IzxAw7x3X9KcSi60v2SW3atxrK5DBOmOo-U4ZqHRA0fs49E8_r8opfkEbCrxI1ZGwdaYaCcHTaxynMBniCGAGakWYA3Hn24TC2EUGK05OlEU5ug9WrvWzHgsf8Mag_DRn0Exg7fF4/s4080/2024%20Feb%20flower%20coasters.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4080" data-original-width="3060" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-ZsPsXyI4olaw3PRtqXSBimtYtHMkOCvwz1m0l7RTUUwBnODt55IzxAw7x3X9KcSi60v2SW3atxrK5DBOmOo-U4ZqHRA0fs49E8_r8opfkEbCrxI1ZGwdaYaCcHTaxynMBniCGAGakWYA3Hn24TC2EUGK05OlEU5ug9WrvWzHgsf8Mag_DRn0Exg7fF4/w480-h640/2024%20Feb%20flower%20coasters.jpg" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">4 crochet drink coasters I made last month</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div>I saw a picture of<a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/swirly-heart"> this pattern </a>which is on Ravelry, so decided to give it a go.<br /><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeXQ46edRoECvrE5KQ6HBS0VQzaEYBtsKNfRtiRHSM9xKUrrd9Iu_cyKoR1eWo2YkBXKW-BJhixohfGPmftTVmyEJVnAz8sM-bH6da2jYxt0zB1hfCa2q6x8OHM9dcJyKarx27W2JwG-hK6XJzIv6K-5k_D-AVk2Wow88ppJtQuMtvteZEHE2gyxdJXG8/s4032/swirly%20love%20heart%20coaster.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeXQ46edRoECvrE5KQ6HBS0VQzaEYBtsKNfRtiRHSM9xKUrrd9Iu_cyKoR1eWo2YkBXKW-BJhixohfGPmftTVmyEJVnAz8sM-bH6da2jYxt0zB1hfCa2q6x8OHM9dcJyKarx27W2JwG-hK6XJzIv6K-5k_D-AVk2Wow88ppJtQuMtvteZEHE2gyxdJXG8/w480-h640/swirly%20love%20heart%20coaster.JPG" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">swirly heart crochet drink coaster pattern on Ravelry</td></tr></tbody></table><br /></div><div>I made these happy sunshine yellow drink coasters last year, again using some more of my 8 ply cotton from Bendigo Woollen Mills. I thought I should bring you up to date with some things I've been doing since I've been away. One thing I've done is I purchased two patterns from <a href="https://www.hookedonsunshine.co/">Hooked on Sunshine</a>, the <a href="https://www.hookedonsunshine.co/briar-rose/">Briar Rose</a> and the <a href="https://www.hookedonsunshine.co/whatchamacallit/">Whatchamacallit</a>!</p><p>I tried the Briar Rose first as it seemed to be the easiest one, and it was pretty easy! I completed this small rug in May 2021 using cotton yarn from <a href="https://www.bendigowoollenmills.com.au/">Bendigo Woollen Mills</a>.</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit7IZpmaGGq3-LDfYpYFOqOy-xmfvIOMiPA20BaNPCohPUB5-x_tryzhp7MQxLQMkapEnA6QKKvG97VsWGyiUqlIKEnRu1uaHI4RCYExTpcRwTh8ruLzKBvvlvU_Wi-DtXLUgL6uy4SqjCniub7qAHTYz85qqym-67-UCG7vRkekwVYcKXiGVLwSB7KGk/s4032/Briar%20Rose%20Lap%20Rug.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit7IZpmaGGq3-LDfYpYFOqOy-xmfvIOMiPA20BaNPCohPUB5-x_tryzhp7MQxLQMkapEnA6QKKvG97VsWGyiUqlIKEnRu1uaHI4RCYExTpcRwTh8ruLzKBvvlvU_Wi-DtXLUgL6uy4SqjCniub7qAHTYz85qqym-67-UCG7vRkekwVYcKXiGVLwSB7KGk/w480-h640/Briar%20Rose%20Lap%20Rug.JPG" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My first Hooked on Sunshine pattern, the Briar Rose!</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p>I thought long and hard about which pattern to do next. I have made other things with it, like <a href="http://www.flushedwithrosycolour.com/2012/01/matching-pair-of-pink-mother-daughter_31.html">a pair of hats for my sister in law and niece</a>, but I still have a lot left. So I started another whatchamacallit in February 2022 using this pink yarn, its all just the one colour. I've been having a lot of trouble with motivation so haven't done much. I am no longer gaming at all, gaming all just feels "finished" and a waste of time. But what I now fill my time with is another dilemma! I told it the dietary requirements of my family of three, mainly that we are dairy-free and meat-free. Then I asked it for a simple cookie recipe using some of the ingredients I have in the back of my pantry that need using up. I told the AI that I had cacao nibs, wholemeal self-raising flour, coconut flour, powdered psyllium husk and sunflower kernels. This was the recipe it came up with, which we tried and it turned out great!</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidzrg6EUPJ13Pr_sYLgS15b4iXbdz_4T-QLHmlr3vs0z3nPyqeR8PZ18PTI3CpOh1ScVRBg1SUMWVhh1oL29qQym8chcimtoGJ6aRD32EAWp1BKLZKoHYCKumFndzqirqcrnKP-uqzJCYf2hP7Cd5aj0ILHU3DsZQP_gqFOgXC7WRgkC402aahC09V/s4032/new%20ai%20cookies%20ingredients.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; These<a href="https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Rosycolour/cool-coasters-1-5"> drink coasters are based on a pattern I found from Ravelry</a>. I also included this <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Rosycolour/primrose-dishcloth">dishcloth, pattern also in Ravelry</a>. I used 8ply cotton and a 4mm hook. I hope my sister likes them!</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8PV1ucPoC04/YFAgsIJf4II/AAAAAAAAGMk/cpFi4uzsBVMkLiUqiqNzEXvfV0dsbCVRACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/6%2Bcoasters%2Bstacked.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8PV1ucPoC04/YFAgsIJf4II/AAAAAAAAGMk/cpFi4uzsBVMkLiUqiqNzEXvfV0dsbCVRACLcBGAsYHQ/w480-h640/6%2Bcoasters%2Bstacked.JPG" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A stack of six cotton drink coasters<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fAEehfT-Nac/YFAguJnkAHI/AAAAAAAAGMo/EVRsom2NCUc82fQ2MPoFPYNVKXRU6LJcACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/6%2Bcoasters.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fAEehfT-Nac/YFAguJnkAHI/AAAAAAAAGMo/EVRsom2NCUc82fQ2MPoFPYNVKXRU6LJcACLcBGAsYHQ/w480-h640/6%2Bcoasters.JPG" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">six cotton drink coasters<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9xHFmW0kYyE/YFAgwd-XXiI/AAAAAAAAGMs/yUQDU3DFOsw9c481X2qkqYdB-MLkm2sSQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/simple%2Bdishcloth%2Bfolded.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9xHFmW0kYyE/YFAgwd-XXiI/AAAAAAAAGMs/yUQDU3DFOsw9c481X2qkqYdB-MLkm2sSQCLcBGAsYHQ/w480-h640/simple%2Bdishcloth%2Bfolded.JPG" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">folded cotton dishcloth<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eh9a0NfCYPI/YFAgySMI0PI/AAAAAAAAGMw/H_7XZV30kwE7zR5M5-XNm-ehRNza2GgJACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/simple%2Bdishcloth.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eh9a0NfCYPI/YFAgySMI0PI/AAAAAAAAGMw/H_7XZV30kwE7zR5M5-XNm-ehRNza2GgJACLcBGAsYHQ/w480-h640/simple%2Bdishcloth.JPG" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">simple cotton dishcloth<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hdw34xBrKko/YFAgz-GDfII/AAAAAAAAGM0/wAFeekVpQekmR6tuzlZu9w7lDAyTikSGACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/yarn%2Bchicken.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hdw34xBrKko/YFAgz-GDfII/AAAAAAAAGM0/wAFeekVpQekmR6tuzlZu9w7lDAyTikSGACLcBGAsYHQ/w480-h640/yarn%2Bchicken.JPG" width="480" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I won at yarn chicken!<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p><br /></p>Teenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12159385234457342969noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7623212032371597340.post-77229442296914697852020-09-05T13:27:00.006+10:002020-09-05T13:27:58.880+10:00Vegetarian Bolognaise Pies<p> David just made these pies from scratch! The food was great, always fresh and lots of variety. I really enjoyed being told what to eat and looked forward to every day to see what I would be eating. I ate a little something every 2 hours over a 10 hour period so I was never famished, its really helped me adjust my appetite and learn more about portion sizes. I chose the 1500 calories per day option and was on it for 7 weeks in total and lost 2 kilograms in weight.</p><p>Flexible</p><p>Lite n Easy is very flexible, and it has no contracts which is fabulous. I was able to choose 5 lunches for each week for the 1st couple of weeks, then I went with the full 7 days with breakfasts, lunches and dinners. <br /></p><p>Choice</p><p>There is a lot of choice with the evening dinners, and for Spring they have just added a 3rd choice for lunches so you can now choose vegetarian meals. This was a big bonus for me as when I joined I could not go vegetarian every day, but now you can. It would be great if you could choose which fruits you can eat, as you can clearly substitute fruits. Every now and again you even get a little cake, like double choc cake, walnut and date loaf, appple and banana bread and the delightful orange with chocolate chip cake. The little cakes are definately on the small side but you can really savour them and they are all you need! </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZLLVpIU44y8/X0y7Dmvx-2I/AAAAAAAAGKo/TAYYLEYvzXIJGatFWspwJn2n_pEsUd6_gCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/small%2Bcake.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZLLVpIU44y8/X0y7Dmvx-2I/AAAAAAAAGKo/TAYYLEYvzXIJGatFWspwJn2n_pEsUd6_gCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/small%2Bcake.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The little cakes are delightful!<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><p>Some food is Frozen</p><p>Heating the frozen food in the microwave was okay, but I found that heating the frozen dinners in the oven was much more preferable. For the first dinner I didn't realise you could heat it in the oven and microwaved the tortellini, but when I had it again on another night, heating it in the oven it was much better. I found I needed to heat the dinners in the oven for 55 minutes for it to be hot enough, instead of the recommended 40 minutes.</p><p>Price</p><p>Everything is individually packaged (so there is a lot of plastic) but you are paying for the convenience. I could feed myself each week for a fraction of the price, but I still really appreciate going on it as I have learnt so much in a short time. My budget just doesn't allow me to be on it all the time which is disappointing, but I will find the funds for next time I go on it.<br /></p><p>Concluding Thoughts</p><p> I'm hoping to continue losing weight (I have about 20kg to lose!) by mimicking the diet, but intend
to get Lite n Easy again when I need to reset my appetite. If I find
the diet I design is not working I will definately get Lite n Easy again.</p><p><br /></p>Teenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12159385234457342969noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7623212032371597340.post-73674090433308102292020-05-16T12:00:00.005+10:002020-05-16T12:01:03.757+10:00A Modest Harvest for 2020Here is our first harvest from our lemon tree! We planted it seven years ago and it has finally provided some fruit! We aren't very good gardeners, but tumeric and chilli is very easy to grow! We also have some rocket, we harvest that right when we are ready to eat it. Of course we grow herbs too, rosemary, oregano and chives are also easy to grow! At least we have something to grow in our garden! We have been inside for this social distancing for the Covid 19 pandemic, this week is week 8, our son hasn't left the house for 8 weeks! But I am living my best life right now, going no where, seeing no one, just my little family at home safe and sound is bliss! I know we are safe here! But week after next our son has to go back to school, I hope he will be safe!<br />

I've just sewn in the ends this morning and took some photos! I used a 3.5mm hook and 4ply acrylic yarn. I didn't make it for anyone in particular, just did it for fun!<br />

I used 8 ply cotton and a 4 mm hook. The base is just a flat circle of 3 rounds, then straight up the sides with mesh. Lastly, I finished with a length of chain to weave in and out of the last row of stitches to form a string pull. Fun!<br />

Where has the year gone?? I just finished this spiral bunny rug that I have been working on for years. It doesn't lay flat because I think I may have changed size hook midway. I was sure I used a 3.5mm hook, but maybe the beginning was done with a 3mm hook? The yarn I used was 4 ply luxury wool from the <a href="https://www.bendigowoollenmills.com.au/luxury-4-ply">Bendigo Woollen Mills</a>. Its just a pattern I made up and I can't remember where I found the edge pattern. I don't know what I will do with this bunny rug, its imperfections make it unsuitable to sell. I guess I will just hang on to it in case I ever meet a baby that needs a woollen bunny rug!<br />

I'm thinking of trying to walk down to the local fruit and veg to get some decent exercise and to reduce the amount of plastic we use. At the moment we're getting our fruit and veg from Colesonline and they come in plastic, even after the plastic bag ban which comes in July they will still put the fruit and veg in plastic apparently. So I needed a produce bag! Hey presto!<br />

I've been playing World of Warcraft, I recently got this shiny red bear appearance for my druid. I am now maining her as a tank and its lots of fun! Also, last year I got the Loremaster achievement and title, I had most of it done, it only took a solid weekend to finish it off. Sometimes an urge to crochet comes over me, but I don't really have anyone to crochet for so I dismiss it and get back to WOW!<br />

I used 8 ply acrylic and a 4mm hook, it took me a couple of hours when I was bored with nothing better to do. It now hangs in the art room at my private holiday resort :P.<br />

Its really nice, warm and thick yarn with a thread of silver woven through, spaced out with sparkly sequins. I just made it for something to do, its the biggest project I've done since my pink bunny rugg early last year. I'm going to donate it to the charity bin, hopefully someone will get some use out of it. Goodness knows I don't need more scarves and such for my own craft box, I already have several that I will never use myself. I used 4 balls of 50g and a 4mm hook.<br />

I've had a few wonky days the last few days, but seeing this mandala helps reassure me all is right with the world.<br />

As subtle as the imprint left by an angel's dress.<br />
As soft and sweet as a virgin's caress.<br />
Hints and echoes of light filter through\<br />
Fragile and precious trees of leaves.<br />
Leave behind the world of corners and straight walls.<br />
Fall willingly,<br />
Blissfully,<br />
Into a strange green, glittery, gittery, calming, peaceful waterworld.<br />
Away from the race.<br />
Setting a better pace.<br />
Keeping my own space for a change.Teenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12159385234457342969noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7623212032371597340.post-24681060326713343182016-12-01T17:51:00.001+10:002016-12-01T17:51:51.905+10:00Ship of Sleep 15th June 1996Ship of sleep<br />
Drift and steal<br />
me away from the<br />
harsh and bleak.<br />
Take me to a land of sleep and dreams.<br />
Deep hue of velvet blue.<br />
Fathomless abyss of watery fantasies and emotional energies.<br />
The navy cool whispers imagined caresses,<br />
as soft as water,<br />
as soft as his words in song.<br />
Ship of sleep,<br />
Take me to the navy cool deep<br />
Where I belong.<br />
Where I can do no wrong<br />
but only drift, drift, drift ... Teenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12159385234457342969noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7623212032371597340.post-25701108405684222212016-11-30T13:30:00.002+10:002016-11-30T13:30:57.702+10:00What I Do 21st February 1995I wait.<br />
